It was a very hectic training program to obtain skills
for Airbus autopilot components repair and overhaul from their manufacturers
i.e. Aerospatiale (Toulouse), Smiths (Cheltenham), BGT (Markdorf) and Sagem (Paris).

Toulouse
is the center of the European aerospace industry, with the headquarters
of Airbus, the SPOT satellite system, ATR and
the Aerospace Valley. To deal
with growth, major housing and transportation projects were launched. Line A of
the underground was opened in 1993, and
line B opened in 2007. It's a true statement that: “the Sun never sets on
Airbus' aircraft assembly sites.” The company is unique with its 12 final
assembly lines at five locations globally, including in Toulouse, France
headquarters – which hosts two final assembly lines for the single-aisle
A320 Family, along with one each for the wide body.
With the « Airbus » tour, experience a
unique opportunity to discover the latest generation of Airbus aircraft. A
presentation of the history of aviation in Toulouse is provided, as well as a
bus tour of the 700 hectares of Airbus facilities.
It was
a great shocking surprise for me to see few beggars almost every day on the
streets of Toulouse.
