For
computers, 1 is true or “ON” and 0 is false or “OFF”. It is often said that
computers think in ones and zeroes. The most reliable way to store, retrieve
and process data is by flipping electronic switches called transistors on (1)
and off (0). IC (Integrated Circuit) is an assembly of electronic components in
which hundreds of millions of transistors and capacitors are interconnected and
built up on a thin substrate of semiconductor material (usually silicon) to
form a small chip or wafer.
In
short Microprocessor is a digital device on a chip that can fetch instructions
from memory, decode and execute them to give results.
