It can take around 5 to 7
years or more of education, training, and hands-on experience to become a fully
qualified Aircraft Engineer, depending on the specific country's aviation
regulations and the individual's progress. One is not eligible to be appointed
as Aircraft Engineer directly even possessing highest education degree until he
obtains 2 years hands on experience and clears the written, oral examination and
an interview held by the relevant Civil Aviation Authority.
Joining as Mechanic ii
with a 3 years diploma after High School examination it took me eleven years to
become eligible for getting Aircraft Engineer’s license. Other than duties and responsibilities
officially assigned projects like fabricating test equipment delayed to clear
the relevant exams by three years to becoming an aircraft Engineer.

To filling up 2 vacancies
of Maintenance Manager and 1 of Manager Engineering I had to wait twelve years
after fulfilling four years duties and responsibilities as Aircraft Engineer.
Finally in 1994 I was promoted to Maintenance Manager.
