My friend fled to Karachi just
after Dacca fall 1971. He was a well-known business tycoon over there and was recently
married but had only Pak. Rs.20, 000 in his pocket when landed at Karachi airport,
after large scale riots throughout East Pakistan. Adding some loans he managed
to re-establish himself with his newly wed wife utilizing business skills as whole
sale dealer Lever Brothers East Pakistan and got whole sale dealership of Canon
calculators, minicomputers and plain paper copiers for remaining Pakistan. I
volunteered my services to him as Field Service Engineer after full time
working hours in PIA.
(Introductory
meeting in Canon Tokyo)
I had to declare the truth
inclusive of Tokyo trip plan to higher management PIA prior to leave approval. After
substitute arrangement as Crew Chief Autopilot Group Instrument Overhaul shop I
was happy to fly to Tokyo with Mr. Kamal Ahmed Khan, a newly selected whole
sale dealer Canon Pakistan.
I am proud of my airline
to taking care of me against my hard work and dedication indeed.
